CAMEL | Conceptual Explorations

This conceptual series was developed while working at Fitch, as part of an internal exploration into how 3D storytelling could reframe a well-known brand — in this case, Camel — in fresh, unconventional ways. The aim was not to sell a product, but to investigate how a familiar brand icon could be reimagined through artistic expression, visual metaphor, and experimental form. These studies pushed creative thinking beyond commercial confines and into a space where storytelling, nostalgia, and identity could converge through 3D design.

Each piece in the series reinterprets the iconic camel symbol through a unique material lens. One of the standout concepts features a camel formed entirely from polaroid-style photographs — a whimsical yet poignant nod to memory, travel, and moments captured over time. The image is both playful and deeply human, with every photo suggesting a different story, location, or encounter. A bright, surreal colour palette enhances the dreamlike tone, while the scattered photographs add a sense of motion and spontaneity to the still image.

Other concepts in the series included camels created from bent straws, flowing ink, and stamped passports — each one chosen to evoke different aspects of the Camel brand, from freedom of movement to heritage and global presence. These weren’t literal representations, but expressive visual sketches — allowing 3D to act as a creative sandbox for brand exploration.

Technically, each concept was rendered using Cinema 4D with a focus on physical accuracy and stylised lighting. Materials and shaders were treated as part of the narrative — not just surface decoration. This approach allowed each piece to feel sculptural and emotionally resonant, while still polished enough for potential client presentation.

The Camel Concept series is a reminder of how powerful 3D can be when it’s used as a thinking tool — not just a means to an end. It captures what brand exploration should be: open, imaginative, and full of possibility.
